George Punter
Co-founder, Product and Engineering · MEng, Imperial College London
George Punter is a co-founder of Condri, where he is responsible for product and engineering. He studied engineering at Imperial College London and has spent the decade since building mental health software.
He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 23. After a long recovery he built a bipolar self-management app, became CTO at Baseline, and then Head of Product and Engineering at Sway Health, a virtual bipolar clinic in the US, where he built the telehealth stack from the ground up. Condri is his third mental health product.
At Condri he builds and maintains the health anxiety research corpus: every paper PubMed indexes on the condition, the pipeline that checks each published figure against its source abstract, and the verification ledger that records what was found and what was wrong. That work is engineering rather than clinical, and it is deliberately kept separate from the clinical judgement of the psychologists and psychiatrists Condri works with.
He recently became a father, which he describes as a practical education in tolerating uncertainty.
What I am and am not qualified to say
I am an engineer, not a clinician. My work on Condri's research pages is building the corpus, the verification pipeline and the data — not interpreting evidence clinically. Where a page makes a clinical judgement, that belongs with the psychologists and psychiatrists we work with, and is attributed to them. Nothing on this site is medical advice from me.
Research work
Health anxiety research database
Every paper indexed on health anxiety, searchable, with the corpus query published so the set can be reproduced.
The evidence base for health anxiety
Findings shown with the verbatim sentence each was taken from, checked character-for-character against the source abstract.
Treatments for health anxiety, ranked by evidence
Six approaches with what supports each and what tempers it. Clinical interpretation reviewed separately.
